This film explains what atmospheric pressure is and describes some ways that it affects the weather. Due to the time constraints, we could only squeeze in one short experiment to show that air has weight. We recorded the footage over two days (between exams!) using our school’s camcorder.
I love the films we receive from the Republic of Ireland. They have a tendency to be entirely, ridiculously, nuts. This one, happily, absolutely follows the trend.
Favourite moments? The bloomers, the gratuitous exploding balloon (and reactions to it), and the rather good explanation of wind. I’m also impressed by the editing, which is very sharp indeed.
Shame about the very peaky sound, but otherwise: utterly excellent, and one of my personal favourites.

I laughed out loud in several places, causing heads to turn in the office. Wonderfully whimsical and clearly explained too. Excellent work.
