The film demonstrates the 7 basic characteristics of human life. We used a snail as an example of a living organism and found out some really interesting facts about them in the process. We didn’t know that snails were hermaphrodites for a start. We actually found a pair of snails mating but by the time we fetched a camera it was all over! Watching the spiracle opening to enable the snail to breath was also amazing.
The parts of the mnemonic in the film are:
M — Movement
R — Reproduction
S — Sensitivity
G — Growth
R — Respiration
E — Excretion
N — Nutrition
There’s a huge amount crammed into the minute-and-a-half of this film. Lots of thought and care, lots of detail, good photography (overlook the blurry camera, and the shots themselves are terrific),
Thoroughly charming, if you ask me — and it’s good to see some animal biology around here.
Great work.

i loved the hearts between cartoon snails, the girls' line up and the white and blue poos. Movement was very ambitious with a snail and was clearly shown as part of sensitivity. Misnomer, hermaphrodite, mnemonic- WOW; beats the average person's vocabulary!

I loved this. I taught mrs gren to some year 7s and they could never remember all the characteristics. Wish I could have shown them your film!

...She is not really a Mrs because she is in fact an hermafrodyte" That text really made me laugh.
I would love to see more biology films here!
