Say the team:
We loved this experiment when our teacher demonstrated it to us and thought it would be fun to film it.

This is great! Good and clear, but I’m particularly impressed that it’s so well-structured. It’s worth seeing the chemistry first, because the experiment is still surprising, and knowing a little about it makes it even more impressive. However, leading with the chemistry might be a bit dull. Giving us a quick glimpse to whet our appetite is, therefore, a very clever insight.
So, there’s no right or wrong here — there are other ways of putting this together, and some will work just as well — but this team have clearly thought it through, and made clear decisions about how they’re going to present the experiment. It’s that deliberation and care that impresses me.
So, this is a great film not just for an impressive chemical reaction, but also for other film-makers to examine and learn from.
So, gripes? You’ve worked them out already, haven’t you? Ah well, nothing’s perfect.
