Conductors and Insulators

Testing materials for conductivity.

Eagle Eye 5

Duration: 2:30
Views: 1085

A short explanation showing how to test for conductors and insulators. Also, a brief mention of semiconductors.

Another well put-together film from the Eagle Eye bunch in Glasgow. This is a very clear explanation of how to test for conductivity, and the difference between conductors and insulators.

Good clear dialogue, confident delivery, and lots of concentration from a big group of performers while recording.

It’s easy to think our ‘not boring’ rule means ‘silly.’ But sometimes tackling a subject absolutely straightforwardly, but doing so clearly, is more interesting than clowning around and making a film that’s incomprehensible.

Very interesting use of the electrical circuit

I thought that was awesomw... the best part was the pencil... can't believe you didn't win an oscar!

Conductors and Insulators well defined.
Good team work boys. You are well on your way to be future scientists.
Congratulations!

I liked it. I liked the wire connecting part. it was good and the metal ruler part was also good. I liked it.

Safwan Year 3

Safwan from Dreyfus House, 27 Jan 2009

I liked all the parts but my favourite part was when the insulator was connected because it was interesting for me.

Sara Year 4

Sara from Dreyfus House, 27 Jan 2009

I thought it was cool because you could actually see how the current passed through the wires.

Zaki Year 4

Zaki from Dreyfus House, 27 Jan 2009

I liked it because I found it very interesting and i learnt that electricity can pass through metal.

Jessica Year 3

Jessica from Dreyfus House, 27 Jan 2009

I learned that if you connect two wires and one bulb and a paper, the bulb does not light because electricity can't pass through the paper. The paper is an insulator

Arusha Year 3

Arusha from Dreyfus House, 27 Jan 2009

I liked it very much and l learned that if we connect paper then the bulb will not light but i we connect metal to it then it will glow.
Sana from Dreyfus House, 27 Jan 2009

It was good and i learned that electricity can pass through metals.

Zoe year 4

Zoe from Dreyfus House, 27 Jan 2009

I thought it was very cool. I liked the part where they connected the ruler with the wires.

Zarbab year 5

Zarbab from Dreyfus House, 27 Jan 2009

The boys did the experiment very well.
Benjamin from Dreyfus House, 27 Jan 2009

I found out that electricity cannot pass through a wire.
Arun from Dreyfus House, 27 Jan 2009

I like doing science and I could see that those boys like it too.
Eliana from Dreyfus House, 27 Jan 2009

I knew what the boys were saying.
I liked that experiment.

Maria from Dreyfus House, 27 Jan 2009

I liked watching it.
Mashaam from Dreyfus House, 27 Jan 2009

I understood what the boys were doing and I liked it.
Zeenat from Dreyfus House, 27 Jan 2009

I thought it was cool
Tawfiq from Dreyfus House School, 27 Jan 2009

Very smart boys and they were able to make a cool circuit.
Vihan from Dreyfus House School, 27 Jan 2009

GOOD TO SEE THIS EXPERIMENT DEMONSTRATED BY PUPILS. CLEAR, CONCISE INFORMATION PRESENTED IN PLEASANT MANNER.
JULIE CAIRNS, 27 Jan 2009

FULLY UNDERSTAND THE PROCEDURE NOW. EXCELLENT PRESENTATION, BOYS. WELL DONE!
CATHERINE J. WATT - DHAKA, BANGLADESH, 27 Jan 2009

Fantastic experiment guys.It is well explained. My boys will be very excited when i show it to them. They are very passionate about science and electricity.

Good Job and keep those electrons flowing
