How to model digestion using students and some simple props.

Says Mr. McMinn of Helston School:
I let the Year 9 students spend one hour planning this modeling activity. They are a very creative bunch and eager to act. Then one hour to film it, it was great fun and cost nothing.
Coordinating this number of people is never straightforward, and to have done it in such a short space of time is remarkable. Lots of coordination and teamwork involved, I’m guessing. That, or somebody bossing everyone else around.
It’s also a relief that we can hear what’s being said — note the little tieclip microphone being worn by one of the performers. Those things are cheap, and as long as you have a camera with a microphone input, they’re all you need to capture dialogue of this sort of quality. See what a difference it makes?
Beyond that, it’s rather hard for me to comment. I’m so mesmerised by the odd socks, you see. How long do you think they spent discussing whether they should be odd the same way around, or opposite?
— Jonathan.

Excellent film - shows lots of planning and what an exciting way for students to show what they've learnt about digestion.
Well done.

Posh Norbert, it's nice of you to say that it is the funniest film on Planet Scicast, but how dare you say the it's not the best? What film did you ever make that was so good? I, personally think that it is an absoloutely brilliant film; It's funny and it's educational, as well, and that is a perfect combination for teaching other students with. I certiantly learnt alot from making it...
Oh, and why is their not a rating available for 50 stars?
Caitlin, 10 Mar 2009
Best Science film ever but it hasnt made it onto the top rated list yet so keep giving us those stars... I must say the narrators were immense lol but the others were probably more important we were just the eager ones that couldnt stop talking go 9h1 woohoo!

This is an absolutely AMAZING film - Best I have ever seen in my life!!! It deserves 50 stars - NOT 5! The Narrators are HILARIOUS, especially when she joins in. Nothing comes close to the high standards set by video. Very educational :-( - That's the only bad part, LOL. Everyone enjoy...
