Ballistics measurements using an electromagnetic pulse launcher
The Tinkerers

This is equipment home-made by a group calling themselves ‘The Tinkerers’. Sadly, they’ve now disbanded to make way for a younger group, so this was their last project together — happily, they have this film to remind them of their efforts.
This is brilliant! Stylish, great physics, a nice bit of investigation, and a sense of fun and pride that just leaps out of the film at you. Terrific stuff.
Credit to the group also for composing their own music. I had to reject their first version because they’d used commercial music (including a TV theme tune), but they quickly got back to me with a new mix that’s all their own work.
So there’s lots of work gone into this, and it shows. Personally, I desperately want to know how they’ve built their launcher… but I’d only be tempted to have a go myself, and chances are I’d die horribly. So perhaps it’s best this way.

Best film i have ever seen...
totally inspiring. Amazing intro. This makes me want to become a scientist.

Some amature moments, and there was a dissapointing lack of science in the first 50ish seconds (of overlong introduction). However, i think it is a pretty good video, thanks to the soundtrack and unique content. I liked how the children were actually involved and truly looked like they were enjoying the project, but the one niggling criticism is how the point of the video was to find angle:distance ratios, but the results were not clearly stated, and only shown in a few seconds of graph screen shots.

I would have like'd the video to discuss the results, which you briefly showed but didn't explain.

A nice effort in creating a good soundtrack. Video editing skill we slightly amatur but still very entertaining. The intro was a bit plain and irellevant but the video soon imporved and became far more relevant with the scientific voice overs. It was good to see some young children so enthusiastic toward science, but to tell the truth i would be too, if i had an electromagnetic gun, I WANT ONE OF THOSE, any tips on how to make one?

Top Notch!!!

They all looked like they enjoyed the project.

it was very well done although i would have liked a bit more of the physics throughout, the general lack of it during the begining rendered me somewhat displeased
