Pizzatricity

Inspired by our GCSE Teaching Scheme, we came up with this explanation of the concept of electrical energy in a circuit, using the analogy of pizza delivery.

[Admin’s note: film updated with higher-quality version, 6th Feb 2008]

Lessons from this film:

  1. I need to write a set of guides about exporting video from common editing software. We’ve had films arrive as 4 gigabytes on a DVD, and as 1 megabyte, in this case. Oops. Sorry, all.
  2. ‘Does the time limit include the end credits?’ is a question we should have anticipated and been clear about.
  3. Particularly awful cod Italian accents are always funny.

This is a deliciously ambitious film, and if we could see all the detail then I think we’d agree that the production team have pulled it off. We’ll try to get a higher-quality version so we can judge it properly.

[update 6/Feb/08 — here’s the higher-quality version of the film, which is much clearer. It’s also a little shorter now, coming in under the 2:30 time limit (plus the SciCast end captions).]

Hilarious! As a non-scientist I certainly learned a lot and in a very comical way!
