This film came to us from a school in Romania, who caught a piece about SciCast on BBC World Service News (no, really), and desperately wanted to be involved. How could we say no?
Here’s what they had to say:
“We moved the chemistry lab into our houses, where we filmed all experiments with the help of our parents. It’s a very simple experiment, we invite you to repeat it!”
Sweet film! It’s nice and clear, and raises as many questions as it asks — what’s going on with the iodine solution, do you think?
It’s surprisingly complex to put together a film like this, and this team have done a great job showing us what we need to see while keeping the film nicely brief. Top effort.
The only bit of advice I’d give is that some of the subtitles are a bit too quick to read. However, it’s always hard to judge this right, and next-to-impossible if you’re working in a language that isn’t your own! Plus, you can always stop the video to read them more carefully, so there’s no problem.
