Blubber GloveThis is a film made with a four camera set up, so for logistical reason it's unlikely there'll be too many of them on the site! It works like this, four separate cameras, with four seprate camera operators, each with their own task, e.g. wide shot of everything, close up on the experiment, close up on the presenter etc etc. You have then got lots of shots to edit together the final film - check out all the different shots we used. Complicated but a lot like what you'd do in a real TV studio.
This was an unusual set up for a SciCast workshop, but we had a special guest 'star', John Healey MP, as this was our launch day for the whole Planet SciCast project, and we wanted to get it right. John was fantastic - as you'll see however that water was soooo cold that he didn't have to act like it hurt! The students, who did all the camera and sound work themselves, were tremendous, and after only a morning's drilling were the perfect crew. Great Day!
